South Luangwa National Park
On a sweeping bend of the river, in the heart of the South Luangwa National Park, lies Nsefu Camp. The camp lies in the heart of the undeveloped Nsefu sector and so offers charm and total comfort in remoteness and seclusion.
Camp activities include walking safaris, game drives, night drives, and a visit to the local village. Between mid January to the end of March, guests can also participate in boating safaris, which go into lagoons, flooded ebony groves and flowing channels and giving guests a view of the Luanga Park which is normally inaccessible.
The view of the river from the camp is superb and includes a terraced area where game grazes during the day. The dining room directly overlooks the river and throughout the heat of the day, elephants come to drink and then cross the river.
The bar and sitting room, tucked in beside a huge extinct termite mound, both overlook a waterhole that is very productive for game, especially leopard at night. Any animal that enjoys mud spends many hours there - wallowing warthogs and buffalo are frequent visitors and of course many families of elephant will come down to drink and bath.
The common antelope are seen throughout the day and are a feature of the camp.
The 6 rondavels are all en-suite. The furnishings and fittings are in keeping with an "old fashioned" feel.
Each room has a clear view of the river, through both the large windows and from the wooden verandahs.
Lighting is supplied by generator and solar lamps.
The atmosphere at the camp is intimate, the camp staff friendly and professional, and the service highly personalized.
