Nestled deep within the malaria-free 36,000 hectare Welgevonden Game Reserve, just 3 hours north of Pretoria, is the spectacular 5* Nedile Lodge, where guests can enjoy pure luxury, warm hospitality and an unforgettable safari experience.

This true bushveld environment is home to some of Africa's most sought after game species, including one of the largest collections of white rhino on private land. Other species within the Reserve include elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland and many other varieties of antelope. There may even be the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the aardvark, brown hyena or rarely seen honey badger. Game viewing in open vehicles, as well as guided walks, afford guests the opportunity to see some of Africa’s untamed and most majestic creatures. The game viewing vehicles are restricted to driving on the extensive road network, as off-roading in the reserve is not permitted.

The main lodge at Nedile, with its African theme, comprises a bar, dining room and comfortable lounge, and invites guests to sit back, relax and take in the peace and tranquility of the surroundings, all while experiencing the warmth of South African hospitality.

The lodge can accommodate 10 guests in 5 luxurious rooms. Nedile's stylish suites have been positioned perfectly between rocky outcrops on a north-facing slope, and are complimented perfectly by breathtaking views of the Waterberg Mountains.

Each suite has been designed for complete privacy, relaxation and comfort, and has a private deck, fireplace, ceiling fan, indoor and outdoor showers, and an invitingly luxurious bathroom. Two of the suites may be used as family units with an inter-leading entrance hall.

Rates Include

All meals; tea/coffee; the Welgevondon Conservation Fee; and 2 game drives per day are included. PLEASE NOTE: Personal beverages are NOT included.

Directions For Drivers

From Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport: Take the N1 - Pretoria to Polokwane (Pietersburg). There are 3 tollgates to take into consideration: 1 - Pumulani; 2 - The Carousel; 3 -Kranskop

At the Kranskop Plaza tollgate use the left gate on to the R33 to Modimolle (Nylstroom) which is 10.3 km further. Go straight through Modimolle towards Vaalwater for 66.6 km. Pass straight through Vaalwater. Do not turn off anywhere. After Vaalwater past the garage, (Spar on left hand side), continue straight on the road towards Bulgerivier and Thabazimbi.

24.3 km out of Vaalwater you will find the Welgevonden Main Gate on your left hand side coming from Vaalwater. Please DO NOT take the Welgevonden Main Gate entrance - keep on going for 23 km further. On your left hand side you will see the road sign Schoongelegen turnoff. Turn left onto Schoongelegen dirt road. There is a road sign indicating the Welgevonden West Gate. Continue along this road for a further 16.3 km past Manual Gate to the West Gate on your left hand side.

Travelling time from the Vaalwater (Spar) to the Welgevonden West Gate is approximately 30-35 minutes.

Please confirm your estimated time of arrival at the West Gate. You will be picked up at the gate with an open game viewer. In the reserve you are on a scenic game drive for anything between 20 minutes to hours depending on the game viewing. Your vehicle will stay at the West Gate parked behind elephant proof electric fences with 24 hours security.
