Welgevonden Private Game Reserve

Metsi Lodge Location Map

Metsi Lodge is situated in the unspoiled, malaria-free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve - 34,000 hectares of bush that boasts rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, many species of antelope and countless bird and insect life.

Metsi Lodge can only be booked on an exclusive basis, so it is ideal for families or groups of friends travelling together, who want to enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush at their own pace.

Your daily schedule of activities can be tailored completely to your desires. There is no 'set times' for game drives - it really is your choice.

After a morning safari and full breakfast, you can laze around the swimming pool in the African sun, or read a book in one of the lounges, before a delicious lunch is served in the elegant dining room, or al fresco deck table. After your afternoon/evening safari adventure, come back to the lodge and have a drink while your evening meal is prepared.

If you wish to spend longer out in the bush, you can also enjoy a whole day's game drive in the Land Rover, stopping at one of the many beautiful spots in the reserve for a picnic lunch. Your ranger cannot drive off-road however, so your game drives will all be restricted to the very extensive road network in the reserve.

Each of Metsi's 5 luxuriously appointed bedrooms benefit from their own en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor screened showers, mini bar and open fire place for those chilly winter nights.

Enjoy views of waterbuck and impala grazing by the private dam from your outdoor relaxation deck, or from your bed as you wake in the mornings.

This really is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the African bush for a few days.
