Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp

Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp

Masai Mara

Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp Location Map

Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp is situated in the south-eastern corner of the Masai Mara, in an untouched 250,000 acre exclusive concession, providing the discerning client a guarantee of privacy and an abundance of wildlife.

Extending an era of luxury and quality, the camp offers a return to the original spirit and essence of a 'safari', reminiscent of a golden era - an era of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance.

Guest activities include game drives guided by professional guides in open 4x4 Land Rovers, both on the concession and into the Masai Mara Reserve itself.  As the concession is outside the main Masai Mara Reserve, guided walks and night drives are allowed on the concession and are highly recommended. By walking, guests can get that much closer to nature, and if an opportunity to track wild game presents itself, the trained trackers will take guests even closer still.

The camp has 3 main mess tent areas for fine dining, drinking, reading and relaxing, and an amazing pool where guests can relax after a game drive.

There is a masseuse based full-time at the camp for complimentary massages, manicures and pedicures.

The camp has 9 authentic white canvas tents in total, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished and incorporate original safari antiques. The tents consist of a private en-suite dressing room and bathroom (with a shower and flushing toilet), a main bedroom area and an outdoor veranda. Each tent has a private butler, all of whom have been trained to provide guests with discreet, yet attentive service.  There are 4 double tents, 2 unique honeymoon tents and 3 family tents (the family tents each have 2 bedrooms and a living room with a fireplace).

For guests wanting absolute privacy, Cottar’s Bush Villa can be booked on an exclusive basis and comes with a dedicated team of 8 staff, a private vehicle and a private guide. This contemporary African style villa has a large living room, a dining room, private swimming pool, a magnificent viewing deck and 5 en-suite bedrooms, all with stunning views.
