A Little Sossus Lodge is surrounded by the Nubib, Tsaris and Naukluft mountains with views of the distant dunes in the west. In this exquisite location, you will be accommodated in simple but stylish stone chalets, built from the local occurring rock. Relax under the African sky and enjoy a drink of your choice, before dining on African cuisine while the sun is setting.

Only a 45 minute drive to the main entrance at Sesriem, the lodge is ideally situated, and the perfect base from which to explore the magnificent sand dunes at nearby Sossusvlei.

The lodge offers 20 rustic rock chalets overlooking the desert landscape, each stylishly yet simply decorated. In addition, 4 of the chalets are family units, each of which has 4 beds. 

The main area of the lodge is an old farmhouse converted into a homely meeting place where you can experience a friendly and welcoming ambiance. All areas are open plan inviting guests to wander around freely. On the well sheltered veranda you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cosy lounge is decorated with ethnic African décor and comfortable leather sofas.

Directions For Drivers

A Little Sossus Lodge lies at the junction of the C19 and D854 roads, 35 km southeast of Sesriem.

From Windhoek: Take the B1 south towards Rehoboth and Mariental for approximately 90 km.

Shortly after Rehoboth turn right onto the C24 gravel road towards Kobos and Klein Aub. Approximatey 10 km after Klein Aub turn left onto the D1206/MR47 towards Rietoog and Bullsport. At Rietoog follow the D1206 to Bullsport.

At Bullsport the D1206 meets with the main C14 (north to Solitare and South to Maltahohoe). At the junction here you want to cross over the C14 and join the D854.

Follow the D854 until the end (junction with the C19), and A Little Sossus Lodge is on your left.



General Information For Guests

The chalets have fans which are battery powered, but charged by wind and generator during the daytime. All amenities such as soaps, shampoo, body lotion are environmental friendly. Twelve of the chalets are furnished with twin beds.

Activities that are available at an additional cost include sunset sundowner drives, or a half day excursion to the majestic sand dunes of the Namib Desert.
